"Comfort" Cathy Jo- I tagged you in this because I thought it might be a good on for the Art Walk. Is it finished for the year already? Do you think this piece would be appropriate?

How Christ relates to us? Or how we should relate to those suffering? The inspiration for this piece was the feeling of holding a wounded, wild animal in your hands. You can feel its heart pounding through it's chest in terror- and you know you must hold it carefully. Too tight and it will be more afraid or feel crushed, too loose and it will escape. When you hold it quietly, supportive but gentle, then it can begin to calm and grow more trusting. Sometimes I'm the hands, too often I'm the bird.

I'm getting started in polymer clay with a series of figures representing emotions. This little guy is ANGRY! He is finished in layered acrylics.

I looked at her and saw embarrassment...BEFORE I read your caption. I really like what you're doing. Raw emotion is a powerful thing, and it comes across in these pieces well.
