info from my Mom: Grandma Shelley was born October 19, 1898 Grandpa Shelley was born January 24, 1888 They were married in 1916. His age 28, hers 18. They had 10 children, but one died (Jimmy) at 6 weeks of age from whooping cough. Children names, Jerry, Cressie, Eva, Dick, Phil, Mary, Pat, Jimmy, Melba and Shirley.

Mom says she made my hat and coat from old upholstery material taken out of one of the American Airlines airplanes. She's says, "it was pretty." I am in a sulky stroller, Mom says she could see my my face when she pushed me.

Pat and Orin Davidson, not sure who they are holding. Orin was the son of the Nazarene minister in my Grandma's church in Oswego, he was 10 years older than Pat Shelley when they got married. She was only 16!

This was my Dad's mother, Synthia Lucretia Sade Warren. She had five sisters and two brothers, one of the sisters was named Evie, but they called her Zeb. The Sade family was from Ada, Missouri, but moved to Galena where my Dad attended 12 years of school. His Dad, John Warren worked in the mines in Pitcher, OK. He died of miner's TB when he was 36 or 38 yrs old.

Doug went to Spartan School of Aeronautics and was an aircraft mechanic. After school he took a job in San Jose, California for a few years. I think this geneological photo was taken when Mom and Dad went to visit them. Doug and Sally were newlyweds.

Yes, she and my Dad owned a tire shop in Oswego when David and Doug were little. They sold it when my Dad went to WWII. When he returned, they moved to Tulsa and Dad went to Spartan School of Aeronautics. That was the beginning of his love affair with airplanes.

After the cake, we went to Mohawk Park in Tulsa and rolled down the hills. We did not look this clean afterwards, but we all had a great time! My Mom made my birthday dress, I think she was horrified that I got so dirty. Funny, this is the only birthday party I remember having when I was a kid. :)

Beth Warren. Age 4. I insisted on carrying pop bottles up the front steps. I fell and cut my hand. I remember screaming and a blood soaked towel on my hand before we got to the doctor. Lots of little stitches. Many years later and I still have the scar, up my hand and into my ring finger.
